SEASON’S TRENDS: CHOCOLATE BROWN

This season, designers want to see us dipped in chocolate. Don’t worry, it won’t affect the silhouette! On the contrary, this rich color will only make us look sweet. You can go for a total look (as seen at Tod’s, Jil Sander or Emilio Pucci) or combine a chocolate skirt or a pair of trousers with a clean white top (as seen at The Row). A brown coat is also a must! You have plenty of choices, from long wrap-ups or loose overcoats to tailored blazer-like coats. Either way, you can’t go wrong, because brown seems to be the new black this fall. The Most Spectacular Shows in Paris

Paris Fashion Week started à la grande with two super-spectacular shows: Dior and Saint Laurent. For Dior, that translated into some impressive numbers: 80,000 pieces of mirror, 7.2 tons of coated concrete, 20 days of labor-intensive installation, and a workforce of 80 people! The extraordinary show space was built in the gardens of the Musée Rodin and was inspired by a fourteen-acre sculpture park built by artist Niki de Saint Phalle. Maria Grazia Chiuri's collection for Dior featured 80 pieces meant to celebrate inspirational women in the arts and get the fashion focusing on feminism. Models showed up on the catwalk wearing ’70s patchwork jeans, leather jumpsuits, black pantsuits, sparkly glitter mini dresses, mod boots, and Mary Jane shoes. Few...

SEASON’S TRENDS: PINK

If you have to choose just one color for this spring & summer, pick pink! (If you can choose two, add yellow - but we’ll talk about that in another post.) From neon pink, deep raspberry and strong magenta, to more delicate shades like flirty fuchsia or powder blush, there’s one pink for every item you can think of. Wear it on a statement coat, cropped or loose pants, tailored overalls or a breathtaking gown. We’re not sure that pink is the new black in the coming season, but it’s definitely here to stay. Ah, la vie en rose… (Left to Right Photos: Valentino, Haider Ackermann, Delpozo, Valentino, Céline, Bottega Veneta)   SHOPPING GALLERY   Need help styling these looks...
